The January to March 2011 edition of the Australian Geographic Journal has been released, and it’s a bumper oceans issue. The sea lion shoot from January 2010 has resulted in my second AG cover and an extensive article, written by Roy Hunt.
Shooting the sea lions was great fun, and the images would not have been possible without the fabulous assistance of Alan and Tricia Payne at Baird Bay Ocean Eco Adventures, Andrew and Jennifer from Rodney Fox Shark Experience, Brett Dazell from SA Dept of Environment and Heritage and Matt from Adventure Bay Charters in Port Lincoln.
As well as the sea lion images, marine-themed Issue 101 also contains a story on Marine Protected Areas and a double page spread of my whale shark image illustrates the opening page of beautiful oceans essay by award-winning Australian writer Tim Winton.
